What a Sunday

It's been a busy Sunday afternoon here on the Farmette.

Our new calves, (15 Black Angus), are doing well.  They require some daily checks and maintenance, but seem well and happy.

Our English Pointer had surgery yesterday to remove a tumor.  We are hoping the lab results come back as benign.  He does not appreciate his stitches, but is a good patient.

We received a weather notice, this afternoon, that a winter storm warning is in effect, for our area.  I would laugh at this, but it being March it is totally believable.

It is raining, and cold, but we are all set for whatever happens.  And yes, it being March, nothing could happen.

Linking up today with The Barn Collective.

  1. Believe it or not, but we had a heavy snow fall Sunday afternoon. Ground too warm to amount to anything. Good ol' March.

  8. As crazy as it sounds, some of our coldest weather in Ocala has been in March. I remember one day below freezing a few years ago! Aargh. Glad your little babies are doing well.

  14. That's quite a few head of cattle -- I had a smaller idea about your farmette! I'm glad they're doing well and sending best wishes for your dog. And for the weather not to be too bad.

  16. We have had a rather unusual winter up here. Right now we still have snow and mud on off days. We are going to miss the next storm.

  17. Fifteen calves - that's quite a few. Like Sallie above I had in my head that you were a much smaller operation. Hope the dog does well.

  18. I hope you share some photos of your herd of Angus. I really love them. We used to have a lot of Angus babies born across the road from us. I miss them. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  19. March is so unpredictable. We had sunshine and 68 here in the pacific Northwest today - I got out and did some planting and refilling planters on the deck - made baked beans, potato salad and grilled burgers for dinner and then tomorrow will be 51 and blustery and rainy. Good day for staying indoors - glad i got out today. Hope your doggie is ok.
