Friday Randoms

A view of the rooftops in Smalltownland.

Here is a comprehensive listing of any pool float you could possibly want.  I will take the watermelon, thank you very much.

The golf course is the last place I would want to be during a volcanic eruption.

You just never know who can play a piano.

Leaving you with some Jr. Walker for the weekend.  Make it a good one, won't you?

Linking up with Tom today.

  1. An iconic photo that brims with nostalgia for a past that was and never was and probably won't ever be again except in some renewed form which will bring joy and happiness to some people. So long as they're not near an ocean or large lake or live in any part of the country that's losing access to clean water which is a large segment of the nation. Even Denver, for cryin' out loud.

  6. Oh your little town looks so charming and pretty. You're so lucky. If I was to get to start over I'd find a neat little small-town like yours. Ours just has the school, 1 little grocery store, 1 post office, 1 water district building, 1 phone company... and that's it. Not charming at all. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  9. your small town is lovely!! i will be needing pool floats this year...we are opening/renovating the entire poll for the first time in many years. i liked the lama but i don't think it would be comfortable. maybe it would scare away the 2 ducks who have taken up residence in the new pool!!!

  10. The volcanic ash one reminds me of a photo of my son making putts in Iraq with a burning tank behind him. I guess that was his "normal" at the time.

  11. You did mean the giant watermelon float right? Not the wmpy slice at the end of the pictures?

The roof-view of Smalltownland is charming! Currier and Ives! (See how old I am?) The golfers in Hawaii are absolutely nuts!! And the piano reminds me of our summer/fall home in Eugene Oregon, where last year they placed pianos in several public places. (I didn't hear anyone quite as good as this youtube shows, but maybe I just wasn't there at the right time. Hope they do it again this year, so I can try again!)
