Misleading Sunday

"We must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy."

Albus Dumbledore

The barn above is what is easy.....and fun.  Driving around the county and looking for picturesque moments is the best of times.

A few projects, namely painting the formal dining room and parlor, is what is right for this summer.  What a mess I have on my hands!    Never fear, I have plenty of fun times planned for my time off, but a few things must be done....even if they are not fun.

Linking up with The Barn Collective today.

  3. It's not often one hears the word, "parlor," anymore. I love it. And I'm sure you will do a super job in painting your parlor and formal dining room. There aren't many formal dining rooms these days, either, and I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing or maybe just a thing.

  4. Nice find on the barn, I like the finish you gave the picture.

Painting is easy, it's the prep work before and cleanup after the fact that's all the work!

  5. Those are the ones that “the fun” never happens until those kind of projects
“are all done!” Beginning is the hardest part . . .

Really, really liked your Barn Collective . . . and the row of trees background . . .

  12. You are not alone in battling a mess, Michelle, as others among the blog community, including myself can identify with projects that need doing. Thankfully, I have time because work is a non-issue.

  18. Really great photo! Love the way the barn looks with that treatment! Yes, the messes are hard to tackle...I have people coming over on the 12th and need curtain rods put up, the carpet cleaned and a general cleaning to take place before then! :-)

  19. The barn is just picturesque. I used to love painting; not so much anymore. :) However, I do love seeing the progress and the finished product. Best of luck!

  20. Faaaabulous bath shot Michelle, love the effect you have used, it's a bit like an Old Masters painting. We painted our house all the way through last year.. oh la! The mess. So worth it now though and that's it for another ten years 😀😀
