This and That

The Tennessee Spinning Gourd vine is attempting a takeover of the front porch.  You can see them spinning here and here.

You can click here to find the Baker Creek Heirloom Seed free catalog.  They carry spinning gourds among many other heirloom varieties for fun, eating, and a bit of history.

Mother Nature gave us a taste of Autumn yesterday.  I wish it were here to stay.  For those of you in the path of Hurricane Florence, do be safe.

  2. I love those little gourds! Maybe next year's garden curiosity :) And yes, so worried about this hurricane. I keep hoping it will turn out to sea.

  5. We had a cool day yesterday too but it is warming up again today and the sun has come out. I can't imagine living in the target zone of a hurricane.

  8. I imagine that vine if left to its own devices could be quite problematic.

  9. And that catalog . . . FREE . . .
Is one of the best resources ever . . .
I still need less shade, more sun to get most seeds to grow.

  11. Florence will not be affect us here in NH, but family members who were vacationing on Hilton Head, SC, did heed evacuation orders and are now safely back home in PA. We are getting several days of often heavy downpours and hope too that those in the hurricane's path will be safe.
