Thankful Thursday

With a heatwave upon us here in Kentucky, today I will just be thankful for air conditioning.  Thankful for having a cool home to take respite in when the outdoors get to be too much.  I can remember visiting my grandparents, as a child, and they didn't have air conditioning.  Sitting in front of the fan was a must.  Much of the afternoon was spent outside underneath a shade tree.

What are you thankful for today?  Link it up and let us all know.
Stay cool, my friends.

  4. Like you, thankful for the AC even if the bill is going to hurt. Also thankful for being able to drink hot coffee even in this weather because we have AC :) We put in a second window unit this week--tried to get by with the big one but it wasn't keeping up.

  7. I wouldn't want to live in Florida without air conditioning! It's so hot AND humid! So I'm thankful for a little cooler morning to get out on a hike. Then come home to AC and ceiling fans! Happy Thursday!

  8. My Louisville-born mother used to tell us about the heat when she grew up (probably when we complained about Pacific Northwest heat, which I now know couldn’t have been as bad). I was in high school before I ever heard of air conditioning. It’s still doable most days in the PNW without it, but I wonder sometimes how people survived all those centuries in Florida . Thanks so much for hosting.

  12. Central AC has been a luxury for us since we moved to Colorado. It has been breaking heat records here this summer--99 degrees today. In NYC we only had noisy window air conditioners in our bedrooms--the humidity was the worst!

  14. Oh my yes . . . I am thankful for Air Conditioning!
I just now, walked the lawn picking up sticks from the huge rain/wind storm yesterday. It wasn’t raining but there was so much moisture in the air, it was dripping on me. Heat index says over 100 today, it is already in the high seventies without any Sun! I am also thankful I love to read and I have a good book! And thankful the library is near for me to visit later! Oh the joys of a
