Thankful Thursday
Thankful this Thursday for phone calls. Now that the girl of the house is firmly ensconced at college, phone calls from her are a treasure. Be it letting off a little steam, telling of a funny tale, or what was for lunch, all calls are welcome.
When someone isn't with you on a daily basis anymore, you cherish each word.
What are you thankful for this Thursday? You don't have to have a child off at college to find a bit of thankfulness.
You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

...and your barn is a treasure.
ReplyDeleteHello, I think a parent always worries or thinks of their children. I keep in touch with my son every day. If only just to say good morning and have a good day. Thanks for hosting. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy weekend ahead!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. Regular phone calls between mother and daughter have been a tradition in our family for three generations.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing barns as we drive by and I'm always wanting to stop and take photos. This is a great photo! One of our nephews just started college as a freshmen and it is a big change for everyone. I'm thankful for family on this day and everyday. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteWe have a son working in New York City for a couple of weeks, and I know just what you mean about those precious updates via phone! Any little bit of news is golden!
ReplyDeleteI like getting texts and calls from my daughter. It always makes me smile. I don't barns often as I live in the Urban Jungle. Love your shot.
ReplyDeleteI love getting an email from our daughter telling us what's up in her life. Nice shot, I love the weathered wood.
ReplyDeleteMy granddaughter started college this week so I am thankful for that too! And thankful for all of my blessings. Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteI miss those phone calls with my mum.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to your girl on her new life in school.
ReplyDeleteHaven't talked much about it on my blog, but a surgery is a major disruption in one's life, and had not foreseen how much it would have an effect on my middle daughter and son (not even mentioned in my blogpost, because he would feel uncomfortable about that), in that they would be worrying about their dad. Telling this is to express my thanks to God that He does not answer only my prayers, but also the prayers of my adult children!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy seeing your tobacco barn photos. I'm glad your daughter is keeping in touch. My daughter and son went to college before cell phones were readily available and I didn't hear from them for months. You're lucky your girl is so communicative! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteCell phones, text messages, email, etc. has made it easier to stay in touch with loved ones. Great barn photo! It has been awhile seen I have seen a tobacco barn.
ReplyDeleteA lovely country view.
ReplyDeleteLove the picture.
ReplyDeleteI bet you can guess what I'm thankful for.
Selling the house!!! : )
Kids leaving home is a bitter sweet situation. You want them to become independent but you miss their physical presence.
ReplyDeleteAww, I always cherished hearing from my nephews which I no longer do now that they're full fledged adults ): But I do love the colors that are peaking through and I adore the weather, despite never knowing when it's going to rain.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful barn and I´m thankful for life...
ReplyDeleteTitti
I know how close you are to your daughter, so hearing from her as often as she wants to talk with you is a blessing. I feel the same way about my own daughter, who is now 35 with two little girls.
ReplyDeleteAwesome barn...:)jp
ReplyDeleteI found you via Tom and I have indeed so many things to be thankful, ... I join...
