Thankful Thursday

Rusty chair, anyone?

Thankful this Thursday for a day off.  That's right!  Tomorrow starts the annual Smalltownland festival known as, Cow Days, and the school system has declared no school for the day.  All events/activities begin Friday morning, in full force.  Nice that many families will be able to attend on Friday.

Will I be attending?  Likely so, with my camera in hand.  Nothing like some small town Americana to start the weekend off right.

What are you thankful for today?  Link up and let us all know!

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

  4. My grandparents had a pair of chairs exactly like the one on the far right. Theirs were not rusty, but painted a pleasant light aquamarine color. They were comfortable to sit in, and you could bounce them slightly kind of like a rocking motion. My Papa used to keep them covered in the basement so they stayed nice.

  6. The chairs looking like a Performance. Wishing you and all in school a fine celebration of Cow Day . . .

. . . and myself; I'm thankful being back from hospital.

    Thank you for hosting, too.

  7. Small town festivals are one of my favorite things about moving to a small town from the big city! Can't wait to see the pictures!

  8. We are having the annual fall fairs here in southern Ontario and they sound very like your Cow Days. Horse races and sheep are side by side with the ferris wheel. Every town seems to host one and they are well attended.

  9. Those small town Americana events are my favorites. We're surrounded by little communities that have fun festivals. I missed Cow Chip Days and hope to make all the final fall fests going on. Love the photo, not sure I'd sit in those chairs without a tetanus shot though, lol. Have a great day off, I'm kind of taking one or more accurately taking care of business from the couch.

  12. The first house we bought had 2 chairs like that left behind when we got there. They were in good shape if we'd painted them, but we thought they were ugly and got rid of them. Now they would have been considered fine vintage!
Happy Cow Days! Looking forward to seeing your photos.

  16. We will also be attending a celebration this weekend as a nearby town celebrates its 250th anniversary. Like you, I will also bring along a camera...a real one😉
