I hear stories about how the coyotes will try to lure dogs out away from the buildings where they can out number our beloved pets. Makes me nervous. We find the ground squirrels to be a big nuisance around here and everyone is trying to control the population on their property. We do the same. If we didn't, there would be thousands instead of what seems like hundreds. Purposely calling them to kill them seems "cruel" to me. I hope I don't get a lot of feed-back about that but that's just the way I feel. I have a copy of The Daily Coyote and bought it after I discovered the blog some time back. I understand about the problem with the coyotes, especially when it comes down to protecting one's own family, pets included of course, and also livelihood. I have an old photo of hubby's grandfather as a relatively young man on a horse (North Dakota) and he had several coyote pelts on the back of his saddle. I was shocked but didn't really understand the implications at the time over the years as I heard a lot of stories about them from my father-in-law, gradually my perspective changed. I suppose the same can be said of the wolf. We who love nature love these animals but we need to see both sides of the fence.DeniseinVAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08494518513936310345noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3864190975528857884.post-36436375690460916472014-01-28T20:15:03.887-05:002014-01-28T20:15:03.887-05:00Oh, I meant to say I so love this pic!Oh, I meant to say I so love this pic!Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08015780995837712115noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3864190975528857884.post-78420437621441460582014-01-28T20:14:36.085-05:002014-01-28T20:14:36.085-05:00I found the Daily Coyote about a year after she ha...I found the Daily Coyote about a year after she had him and went back and read every single post....I just check in every now and then now.

My husband's buddy traps coyotes, and also my brother in TN and you would not believe how many they catch.
