I believe they were two houses together and often used by workers on a farm or ranch as living quarters. Denver also has many similar "workmen cottages" but they are made of brick and are now apartments. Back in the day men would come into Denver from mountain towns to work for the week and they would stay in the little attached cottages.Pat @ Mille Fiori Favoritihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08922525910685129822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3864190975528857884.post-69766998560672964852017-02-15T20:48:01.513-05:002017-02-15T20:48:01.513-05:00It is an awfully small house for two families. It would get quite warm in the summer time, and often they would move the cookstove outside for the season. No other thoughts come to me. My son is from Ashland, KY, but is now stationed in Norfolk, VA, and lives in Portsmouth. So I have been to KY a few times to visit him. His mom, my ex wife moved there with him when he was 9. I can understand your passion with the state. I don't know if I love KY or West VA more. They are both beautiful and the people are both absolutely fantastic. I am a Michigander for life. Northerners are not nice as a rule, I am sad to say, although there are some of us who try to be. I love your blog, and have been here several times.
