Thankful Thursday

This Thursday I could say that I am thankful for this week full of time with my family and that would be true.  But, possibly I should say that I am thankful for sweatpants with elastic waistbands.  All of this time at home has produced some fantastic meals with chicken and dumplings being one of them.  Meals like this can take a few hours and makes me appreciate how my grandmothers once cooked for their families.

What are you thankful for today?  Shout it out and link it up.  No bit is too large or too small.

  1. Hello, your meal sounds yummy. I never tried making homemade dumplings. My mother always made them with Sour Beef. I am sure your family appreciates your homemade dinners. Thanks for hosting. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!

  3. Good one! Don't know how our grandmothers did it. Of course, they didn't have social media, 24-hour news cycles etc. to distract them from baking. : ) Happy Thursday!

  5. This week has been one of the sweetest and one that I will remember always. My sister is in hospices care and doesn't have much longer. We have always been worlds apart, like black and white, so much that people have a hard time believing that we are sisters, when they find out. Well, Tuesday when I went up to see her and conversations were hard and I was actually having a very hard time saying goodbye. Then, I surrendered and just asked the Lord to do my speaking . . .it was one of those miraculous times in life when He blessed me with the perfect words to say goodbye, words that were so sweet and perfect that I could have planned for a lifetime and never come up with anything close to as perfect. How sweet He is when we stop trying and let Him take the lead.
I will forever be grateful for Tuesday, Jan 16, 2018 :)
